February 10 - Rest and Renew A candle-lit class.

Friday 6:30 – 8:30 PM $20 inc. hst We are a sleep deprived society. Restorative Yoga can be used as an aid to sleep or as a way to relax deeply while awake. It uses cushions and bolsters to ease the body into deep relaxation. Quiet music, soft lights, and other relaxation techniques will be introduced. Suitable for beginners and all levels and styles of practice.

February 11 – Yin Yoga and Mudras – The Quiet Challenges

Saturday 9 am -12 noon $25 inc. hst Yin Yoga has been used successfully to help sufferers of trauma and PTSD. For everyone, it introduces the idea of “non-striving” to the yoga mat which creates deep relaxation similar to that found in Restorative Yoga. It can challenge the body and help create true flexibility. No falling asleep on the mat with Yin Yoga! Instead, you find a deep acceptance for your body and emotions. With its long holds and well-placed supports Yin Yoga can open the hips and ease lower back distress. Mudras are intentional hand gestures which we use consciously and unconsciously to help us in life. Anjali mudra or Prayer Posture is used by many spiritual paths; putting your hand to the forehead to help you think is an ancient mudra, also. Adding specific mudras to the quiet holds of Yin postures brings to the practice a meditation with intent. The practice ends with a led Yoga Nidra or Yoga Sleep. Suitable for all levels, including beginners.
